1st STEP

Collect The Samples

Blood Collection Instructions (2 mL EDTA Tube) for DNA Testing

  • Collect 2 mL of whole blood in a lavender-top EDTA (K2/K3 EDTA) vacutainer.
  • Gently invert the tube 8–10 times immediately after collection to mix the blood with EDTA. Do not shake vigorously.
  • Clearly label each sample with the donor’s full name, unique ID, and date of collection
  • Store and transport the sample at 2–8°C (refrigerated). Do not freeze whole blood samples.
  • Avoid using heparin tubes, as heparin may interfere with DNA analysis.
  • Ensure the sample is free from contamination, leakage, or hemolysis for optimal DNA extraction.
  • Properly collected EDTA blood provides high-quality genomic DNA suitable for paternity, relationship, forensic, ancestry, and other genetic tests.

2nd STEP

Collect The Samples

  • After sample collection, securely pack the 2 mL EDTA blood sample in a leak-proof secondary container with appropriate cushioning.
  • Include the completed consent form, identification documents (if applicable), and the test requisition form.
